This course provides stylists with best practices for upstyling in the salon as well as on-location. Demos will be shown for how to create texture and volume. This course will also go over understanding color placement for best results, best styles for various face shapes, product suggestion, tool selection and walk through a variety of styles to start practicing.

Tool Selection
Having a variety of hair styling tools and products will allow you to cater to any client's hair texture and style needs. This section reviews the types of tools and products you should have in your kit, which tools are best suited for different updo styles and how to properly clean and store your tools and products when not in use.
Braiding Techniques
Clients love braids and twists. Mastering the different types of braids will set you up for success for any client's request. This section provides tips on how to achieve the perfect braid (fishtail, french & dutch) quickly and how to incorporate braids into an upstyle without needing any hot tools and hot to use a braid as a bun foundation to thin out hair for faster styling results.
Creating Texture
Preparing the hair is the most important part of the upstyle. Creating wavy, effortless texture by using a variety of curl patterns, curling iron sizes and curling techniques will leave your client with natural organic waves that will last them for days.
